Rhys Scoular is a folk-blues-punk songwriter from Mount Kembla, perched above the steel city of Wollongong. Raised on a mix of Elvis, Creedence, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed, he found his voice somewhere between the raw energy of punk and the storytelling grit of Dylan, Guthrie, and the old blues masters. After fronting a string of chaotic punk bands through his teens and 20s, Rhys now brings that same fire to stripped-back, heartfelt songs grounded in tradition but never a slave to it
